Genoa Central has won seven straight games at home, while Smackover has won seven straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Dragons will welcome the Buckaroos at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Friday, Genoa Central got the win against Prescott by a conclusive 10-4.
Emily McGuire spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Rylee Fike, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsie Fowler, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Smackover got themselves on the board against Harmony Grove on Friday, but Harmony Grove never followed suit. They blew past the Hornets 11-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Emily Camacho was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Jaylyn Crawford was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Genoa Central has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Smackover, their victory bumped their record up to 14-1.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Genoa Central hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .350. However, it's not like Smackover struggles in that department as they've averaged .316. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Genoa Central might still be hurting after the 12-0 defeat they got from Smackover when the teams last played back in April of 2019. Will the Dragons have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
