The Liberty Lightning's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They lost to Linn-Mar on the road  by a decisive  75-56 margin. While losing is never fun, Liberty can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings  (they are ranked 127th, while Linn-Mar is ranked 37th).
 Despite the loss, Liberty still got an impressive performance from   Cooper Webb, who  scored 18 points.  Trey Hughes was another key contributor,  scoring 13 points.
 Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Linn-Mar,  the  victory  makes it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 9-6.
 Liberty will be playing in front of their home fans against Iowa City at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. As for Linn-Mar, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Iowa City West at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. The timing is sure in Iowa City West's favor as the  squad sits on six straight wins at home while Linn-Mar has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
