If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Loyal. They will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Athens at 7:00 PM. The squad will be hoping to continue their now three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
Last week, Loyal put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season. They put a hurting on Owen-Withee to the tune of 52-15. The team accrued the bulk of their points in the first half (46) and coasted on those for the victory.
Meanwhile, it was close but no cigar for Athens as they fell 12-14 to Greenwood. This makes it the second loss in a row for Athens.
Loyal's win lifted them to 4-1 while Athens's defeat dropped them down to 2-3. We'll see if Loyal's success rolls on or if Athens are able to steal their positive momentum.
