Chamberlain is 0-9 against Strawberry Crest since February of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Chamberlain Storm will welcome the Strawberry Crest Chargers at 7:00 p.m. Chamberlain has given up an average of 9.9 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
Chamberlain is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They lost 12-4 to Gaither.
Brihan Arteaga Diaz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaden Hyde, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Strawberry Crest came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Terriers get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Chargers considering their two-run performance the match before.
The team relied heavily on Reuben Vasquez, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Brisen Tweedy was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Strawberry Crest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Strawberry Crest's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Chamberlain, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Chamberlain has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Strawberry Crest struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Chamberlain suffered a grim 18-2 defeat to Strawberry Crest in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Will Chamberlain have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
