Ari Dixon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Carly Madhavan, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Saylah Lopez also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Edmonds-Woodway hadn't beaten Shorewood on the road since April 29, 2021 but that history sure didn't bother them on Monday. The Warriors walked away with a 5-1 win over the Stormrays. That's two games straight that the Warriors have won by exactly four runs.
Ella Campbell made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Campbell was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Abby McCorvey was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Catie Ingalls was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple.
Archbishop Murphy's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Edmonds-Woodway, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.
Wednesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Archbishop Murphy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .368. However, it's not like Edmonds-Woodway struggles in that department as they've averaged .388. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
