The Carmel School has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Grove Christian School Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
Last Tuesday, The Carmel School was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 29-23 to Grace Christian School.
Meanwhile, Grove Christian School didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot on Monday, but they still walked away with a 31-27 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Grove Christian School.
Grove Christian School's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ore Oyefuga, who scored five points along with five assists and four blocks. That's the first time this season that Oyefuga posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Sidney Fisher, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 20 rebounds.
The Carmel School's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Grove Christian School, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
The Carmel School suffered a grim 31-11 defeat to Grove Christian School when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can The Carmel School avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
