They walked away with a 36-27 victory over St. Joseph Academy. Given Saint Mary's Hall's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 179th, while St. Joseph Academy is ranked 403rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Saint Mary's Hall's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sedelia Wilson-larkin, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds. Wilson-larkin is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella (Beya) Chase, who scored ten points along with five steals.
Saint Mary's Hall pushed their record up to 31-3 with that victory, which was their 24th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for St. Joseph Academy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 23-9.
Saint Mary's Hall will head out on the road to challenge St. Joseph at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Saint Mary's Hall focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Friday. As for St. Joseph Academy, they will be playing at home against St. Augustine at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
