The Richton Rebels will wrap up 2025 with a road trip to face off against the Collins Tigers at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Richton comes in on 13 and Collins on seven.
Richton is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Sumrall 68-39 on Friday. With that victory, the Rebels brought their scoring average up to 51.2 points per game.

Richton had a senior duo take command as Nylah Robins dropped a double-double with 24 points and 12 boards and Rakhiya Moody dropped a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Robins has scored all season. Dherria Barlow was another key player, going 5-for-11 on her way to 11 points and three steals.
Richton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.
While Collins didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 54-14 win over Seminary. That looming 54-14 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Tigers yet this season.
Collins' win came from a few key players Richton will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Wisdom Wheeler, who shot 58% from the field en route to 16 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tiana Coleman, who posted nine points in addition to six steals and five rebounds.
Collins' victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Richton, their win bumped their record up to 13-0.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Richton has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 39 boards per game. However, it's not like Collins struggles in that department as they've been averaging 22.9 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything went Richton's way against Collins in their previous meeting back in January, as Richton made off with a 64-44 victory. Will the Rebels repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
