The First Coast Buccaneers will head out on the road to square off against the Hilliard Red Flashes at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
First Coast had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Andrew Jackson on Wednesday. The Buccaneers were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Tigers. The victory continues a trend for the Buccaneers in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won six in a row.
Lynneisa Whittington spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kyrie Camarce was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Brooke Edmonds was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-5.
Meanwhile, Hilliard hadn't done well against Providence School recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Red Flashes' pitcher stepped up to hand the Stallions a 9-0 shutout. The Red Flashes not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 16, 2024.
Not much got past Camdyn Beasley, who gave up just three hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Providence School off the board.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Peighton Self, who went 3-for-5 with three doubles and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kierstin Northern, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.
Hilliard kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
First Coast's record is now 9-12. As for Hilliard, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-12.
First Coast beat Hilliard 12-8 in their previous matchup back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buccaneers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
