Basketball Recap: Danville Christian Academy Picks Up 13th Consecutive Victory

Danville Christian Academy waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with 12 straight wins... but they left with 13. They took down the Garrard County Golden Lions 50-33. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while the Golden Lions are ranked 161st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Danville Christian Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Leek Ateny, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten boards. Ateny has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last six times he's played. Titus Boyd was another key player, going 5-for-12 on his way to 13 points and six rebounds.

Danville Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in six consecutive games.

Danville Christian Academy's win was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-2. As for Garrard County, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.
