Football Game Preview: Juniata Indians vs. Bellefonte Raiders

Juniata is a perfect 4-0 against Bellefonte since October of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Indians will host the Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Juniata beat Upper Dauphin Area 14-7. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won three in a row.

Jasper Shepps was his usual excellent self, picking up 87 receiving yards and one score. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making seven total tackles and defending two passes in addition to snagging an interception.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bellefonte). They really took it to Greater Johnstown for the full four quarters, racking up a 34-0 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Raiders' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while the Trojans are ranked 378th).

Bellefonte's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Juniata, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

Juniata strolled past Bellefonte in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a score of 20-6. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
