Roosevelt extended the longest winning streak in Portage Trail - Metro this week by beating Ellet, 24-7. The victory was the ninth in a row for the Rough Riders.
Roosevelt took down the Orangemen 24-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Tra'von Chapman threw for 184 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
John Nemec's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Kardell Jackson chipped in 17 yards. Luther Fortson helped Roosevelt's passing attack out by catching three balls for 41 yards.
Trei Thomas was the best wideout in the league this week as the Rough Riders defeated Ellet. Thomas racked up four receptions for 132 yards.
Roosevelt's Chapman and Thomas have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Chapman has thrown for 2653 yards this season, while Thomas has 62 catches for 1123 yards. Dorian Williams from Streetsboro leads the league in rushing with 1981 yards.
Ravenna and John Hay played the most hotly contested game in Portage Trail - Metro this week, with Ravenna eventually emerging with a 13-12 victory.
