South Pemiscot hasn't had much luck against Malden recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will challenge the Green Wave at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
While South Pemiscot didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Naylor a 15-0 shutout on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bulldogs considering their one-run performance the game before.
Phoenix Simmons was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Simmons was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ayleighonna Farmer, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Graycn Trammel was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one RBI.
South Pemiscot was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
The home team had won the previous two meetings between Malden and Campbell, and Malden kept the tradition alive. The Green Wave blew past the Camels 15-0 on Monday.
Carsyn Cohen was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariah Loya, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.
Malden has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. As for South Pemiscot, their record now sits at 12-5.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. South Pemiscot has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .529. However, it's not like Malden struggles in that department as they've averaged .533. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
South Pemiscot might still be hurting after the 18-2 loss they got from Malden when the teams last played back in March. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
