The St. Petersburg Catholic Barons will square off against the Tampa Prep Terrapins at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
St. Petersburg Catholic took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Osceola 6-5. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Barons as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Max Newman
Max Newman looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because St. Petersburg Catholic is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Alex Fabelo and Sam Newman did most of the damage at the plate: Fabelo scored a run while going 3-for-4, while Sam scored a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, Newman posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aidan Heelan, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
St. Petersburg Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Osceola only managed seven hits.
Meanwhile, Tampa Prep hadn't done well against Tampa Catholic recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Tampa Prep had just enough and edged out Tampa Catholic 3-2.
Tampa Prep's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Della Rocca, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Kyle Brill was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
The victory got St. Petersburg Catholic back to even at 6-6. As for Tampa Prep, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
