The Pontotoc Warriors will take on the Kossuth Aggies at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Pontotoc took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Corinth 7-6. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Mattie Sims Koon tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March of 2025.
At the plate, Star Williams was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025. Erynn Boddie was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, Kossuth gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over Corinth. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Aggies.
Hallie Kate Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Madison Mitchell, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Caliann Mitchell, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Kossuth kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Corinth only managed six.
Kossuth now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Pontotoc, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Pontotoc hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Kossuth struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Pontotoc was able to grind out a solid victory over Kossuth in their previous meeting back in March of 2025, winning 10-5. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Aggies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
