Drew Charter pushed their score all the way to 58 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 68-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Walker. While losing is never fun, Drew Charter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 324th, while Walker is ranked 135th).
Walker was led to victory by Noah Pederson and Moustapha Diop. Pederson scored 26 points along with six rebounds, while Diop dropped a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds. Diop is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Anderson Carey was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six assists.
Drew Charter's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Walker, they pushed their record up to 16-7 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Drew Charter won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Washington at 4:30 p.m. on January 27th. Washington is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Walker, they will head out on the road to square off against Mount Paran Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mount Paran Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 192 points over their last three matches.
