Dixie and Ware Shoals are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. Dixie will be playing at home against Ware Shoals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Dixie's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Calhoun Falls Charter as they made off with a 15-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Hornets as they're now sitting on 11 straight.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Ware Shoals, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They blew past Thornwell 14-1 on Friday. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Saints recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Brennan Goode made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Ware Shoals got a massive performance out of Ethan Carillo, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Carillo also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Brayden Madden was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

Ware Shoals always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Thornwell only posted an OBP of .222.

Ware Shoals pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Dixie, their victory bumped their record up to 12-2.
