The Pierce Bluejays won the last time they faced the West Point-Beemer Cadets, and things went their way on Friday too. Pierce took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 53-19 win over West Point-Beemer. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 27-6.
Keenan Valverde had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 176 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.3 yards per carry. Valverde is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last six games he's played. Ben Bolling was another key contributor, rushing for 73 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
West Point-Beemer's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Treven Weddle, who rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown.
Pierce's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.0 points per game. As for West Point-Beemer, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-5.
Pierce will take on Roncalli Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Roncalli Catholic is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. West Point-Beemer does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
