Meanwhile, Grayslake North came tearing into  Monday's  matchup with seven straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Hornets  a   6-0 shutout. Considering the Knights have won nine contests by more than five  runs this season, Monday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Riley O'Brien made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only  one  hit while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with two  RBI and one  double.
