Softball Recap: Crawford Find Success

Crawford won the last time they faced Jonesboro and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Crawford Pirates walked away with an 11-7 win over the Jonesboro Eagles.

The team relied heavily on Brooke Bubert, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Bubert, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Brooke wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Crawford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matches.

Crawford is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. Jonesboro dropped their record down to 2-3 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Crawford has already played their next game, a 15-5 defeat against Robinson on the 15th. We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. Valley Mills will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Jonesboro surely won't give up without a fight.
