Absegami scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Millville, 24-21. At the time, the Thunderbolts was ranked 22nd in the state, while the Braves was 44th.
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Millville, who took down 22nd ranked Millville, 24-21.
St. Joseph's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Anthony Giagunto threw for 139 and two touchdowns and Laquay Brown had 44 yards receiving. On the ground Cody Sampson chipped in 38 yards. Rocco Ordille helped St. Joseph's passing attack out by catching three balls for 34 yards.
St. Joseph's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Wildcats feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Giagunto has thrown for 381 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Sampson has four catches for 76 yards. Sampson leads the league in rushing with 341 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Wildcats take on Oakcrest. St. Joseph's offense has recorded 103 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while the Falcons have permitted only 109 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Atlantic City takes on Hammonton. The Vikings are in fourth place, while the Blue Devils are in second place.
Jason Durham's team suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after a 24-21 loss to Absegami. The Thunderbolts had been ranked 22nd, but fell to 33 following the defeat.
