The Vidor Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 25 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Jasper 74-23 at home. The win was nothing new for Vidor as they're now sitting on five straight.
Raegan Stephenson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 30 points along with six rebounds and five blocks. Those five blocks set a new season-high mark for her. Allie Williams was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Despite the defeat, Jasper saw an underclassman step up: Macie Clark scored 11 points along with four blocks. Clark also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of MyKennah Winchester, who scored three points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Vidor's win bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Jasper, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
Vidor will be home for the holidays to greet West Orange-Stark at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. West Orange-Stark will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1051st, while Vidor is ranked 357th). As for Jasper, they will head out on the road to face off against Lumberton at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Lumberton is on a three-game streak of home losses, Jasper a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
