They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 68-45 walloping at the hands of Nansemond-Suffolk Academy. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Norfolk Christian in their matchups with Nansemond-Suffolk Academy: they've now lost nine in a row.
Despite the loss, Norfolk Christian saw an underclassman step up: Jalen Freeman scored 15 points along with three steals. Freeman hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Holmes, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
Norfolk Christian has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for Nansemond-Suffolk Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10.
Norfolk Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against TEACH at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. TEACH has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 1. Nansemond-Suffolk Academy on the road again on Tuesday and play against Hampton Roads Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. Hampton Roads Academy is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
