Uintah River won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 65-44 walloping at the hands of Salt Lake Academy. Uintah River was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Salt Lake Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Leading Salt Lake Academy to victory were Braylon Brock and Pedro Perez. Brock dropped a double-double on 19 points and 17 rebounds, while Perez scored 34 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Perez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxson Soderquist, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Uintah River now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Salt Lake Academy, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Uintah River will take on Anthem Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Anthem Prep is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road. As for Salt Lake Academy, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Independence at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th.
