El Dorado moved up to 743 from 881 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Sierra Valley. The Cougars climbed the ranks as a result of a 79-14 win over the Cougars.
Vista del Lago extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating El Dorado, 79-14. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Vista del Lago's dynamic duo of Matt Jimison and Tyler Kaim proved tough for Joe Volek's team to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Jimison threw for 174 yards and three touchdowns and Kaim had 82 yards receiving. Chris Cooper helped Vista del Lago's passing attack out by catching one ball for 68 yards.
Matt Thomas was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 215 yards on eight carries as Liberty Ranch topped the Cougars. Matt Holland also contributed to the rushing game with 56 yards on the ground.
Thanks to the talents of Jacob Tibbetts and Thomas the Hawks have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Tibbetts leads the league in passing with 595 yards, while Thomas has rushed for 369 yards this season. El Dorado's Clayton Van Duyn leads the league in receiving yards with 351 on 27 catches.
A big matchup in Sierra Valley this week will be when the Eagles take on Liberty Ranch. At the moment, Vista del Lago is in first, while Bryan Golder's team is in third.
There should be lots of points scored when the Eagles and the Hawks face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Vista del Lago comes in having scored 188 this season, while Liberty Ranch has scored 182. The Eagles scored 79 points last week as they beat the Cougars.
Vista del Lago took down El Dorado 79-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jimison ran for nine yards in the win.
