Despite the defeat, First Baptist saw an underclassman step up: Lydia Wynja dropped a double-double on 22 points and 22 rebounds. Wynja scored a full 47.8% of First Baptist's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Katie Klejwa, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
St. Francis Christian's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for First Baptist, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Francis Christian will take on First Baptist at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. First Baptist's defense has only allowed 29.8 points per game this season, so St. Francis Christian's offense will have their work cut out for St. Francis Christian. As for First Baptist, they will head out on the road to face off against Lake Region Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Lake Region Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings (they are ranked 227th, while First Baptist is ranked 113th).
