Hollister unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 42-28 bruising from the Branham Bruins on Friday. The matchup was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but the Haybalers couldn't quite close it out.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hollister will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Wilcox at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th. As for Branham, they will head out to take on Willow Glen at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
