Sierra hasn't had much luck against Liberty recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Chieftains will look to defend their home field against the Hawks at 4:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.
On Thursday, Sierra made easy work of Madera South and carried off a 12-2 win.
Sierra got a massive performance out of Dixie Dow, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Dow has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Jaylee JacksonRiley, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Sierra always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Madera South only posted an OBP of .346.
Meanwhile, Liberty had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They never let the Badgers get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by ten runs or more this season.
Macie Webster made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Liberty let Leilah Uriarte and Malorie Chapman run wild. Uriarte went 4-for-5 with four runs, five RBI, and one triple, while Chapman went 4-for-5 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Macey Cox, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Liberty's win bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Sierra, their victory bumped their record up to 8-12.
Sierra couldn't quite get it done against Liberty in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 as they fell 8-5. Can the Chieftains avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
