It was a good run, but the Mays Raiders unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 61-60 to Tri-Cities. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (59), Mays still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why Mays lost, one person who can't be blamed is Derron Lindsey ii. Despite the final result, he scored 26 points along with six rebounds. Lindsey ii has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last 14 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Germani Wilson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Tri-Cities found their leader in underclassman Tre Keith, who scored 25 points. Keith hasn't dropped below 16 points for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Jayden London, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Mays' loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-6. As for Tri-Cities, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-8.
Mays will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Chapel Hill knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully the Raiders likes a good challenge. As for Tri-Cities, they will head out on the road to face off against the Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Midtown will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 303rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 78th).
