Pikeville stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Shelby Valley Wildcats as the Pikeville Panthers made off with an 11-1 win. Winning may never get old, but Pikeville sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Dylan Thompson made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and only two hits while striking out nine over 4.1 innings pitched. Thompson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances. Thompson was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and a double.
In other batting news, Isaiah Stanley was incredible, going 2-for-2 with three RBI, a stolen base, and a double. Sam Wright was another key contributor, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Pikeville pushed their record up to 22-9 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Shelby Valley, they now have a losing record at 12-13.
