When it comes to explaining why Saranac Lake lost, one person who can't be blamed is Caleb Akey. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Mik Denkenberger, who scored nine points.
Colin Patterson was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored 27 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Massena's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Mitchell, who scored 16 points.
Saranac Lake's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Massena, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Saranac Lake will be playing in front of their home fans against Franklin Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Franklin Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 56.2 points per game. Massena is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Canton at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. Canton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Massena in New York (Canton is ranked 86th, while Massena is ranked 205th).
