Last Friday, Melrose-Mindoro got the win against Eleva-Strum by a conclusive 62-38. Given Melrose-Mindoro's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while Eleva-Strum is ranked 324th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Aquinas strolled past La Crosse Logan with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 61-45. The win was just what Aquinas needed coming off of a 60-17 loss in their prior game.
Aquinas got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Samantha Davis out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. The matchup was Davis' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Madeline Murphy, who scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Melrose-Mindoro and bumps their season record up to 3-1. As for Aquinas, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
