It was a good run, but the Warrensburg Burgers unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 52-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hartford Central. Warrensburg was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Hartford Central apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Hartford Central was led to victory by Mckenzie Johnson and Alawnah Dunda. Johnson scored 18 points along with six rebounds, while Dunda dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cailin Severance, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Warrensburg's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-3. As for Hartford Central, they pushed their record up to 13-5 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Warrensburg's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Hadley Luzerne at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Hartford Central is on the road again on Saturday and plays Corinth at 5:00 p.m. on February 10th. Hopefully Hartford Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Wednesday.
