The Wilcox Central Jaguars''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 45-0 loss at the hands of Jackson. Wilcox Central has struggled against Jackson recently, as their matchup on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Jackson found their leader in underclassman Ezavier Crowell, who rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown, and also caught a touchdown. Crowell was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Duckworth, who threw for 100 yards and two touchdowns on only nine passes.
Wilcox Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Jackson, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wilcox Central will take on Shields at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Shields comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last seven games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Jackson, they will head out on the road to face off against Davidson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Davidson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 80th, while Jackson is ranked 17th).
