It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Dripping Springs Tigers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 34-14 margin over Vista Ridge. The result was nothing new for Dripping Springs, who have now won eight matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.
Vista Ridge's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Jackson Arnot, who threw for 206 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of James Hester, who picked up 105 receiving yards and a touchdown.
The win (which was Dripping Springs' fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.5 points per game. As for Vista Ridge, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.
Dripping Springs will head out on the road to face off against Judson at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Judson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 226th, while Dripping Springs is ranked 37th). Vista Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
