AAAA Region V recap October 29, 2013
Lexington extended the longest winning streak in AAAA Region V this week by beating Aiken, 50-40. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Wildcats.
White Knoll lost to Dutch Fork 62-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
The Silver Foxes' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Derek Olenchuk threw for 182 and 4 touchdowns and Deion Frasier had 77 yards receiving. On the ground Matt Colburn contributed 167 yards. Julian Heyward helped Dutch Fork's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 41 yards.
He went 12-16 with 0 interceptions.
Frasier was the best wideout in the league this week as Dutch Fork defeated the Timberwolves. Frasier racked up 2 receptions for 77 yards. Heyward helped Dutch Fork's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 41 yards.
The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between Tom Knotts' team and Lexington. The Silver Foxes comes into the matchup ranked 10th in the state, while Josh Stepp's team ranks 22nd.
The Fighting Green Hornets made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,840 from 5,894. The advance stemmed from a 50-40 victory over Aiken last week.
