The home team had won the previous seven meetings between Kennedy Catholic and Cardinal Spellman, and Kennedy Catholic kept the tradition alive. The Gaels' pitcher stepped up to hand the Pilots a 10-0 shutout on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Gaels, who have now won three matches by eight runs or more so far this season.
Nina Sanese-Cavone made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
