Baseball Recap: Bishop Snyder Has No Trouble Against Ponte Vedra

On Thursday, the Bishop Snyder Cardinals got the win against the Ponte Vedra Sharks by a conclusive 11-1. Considering the Cardinals have won four contests by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Tristan Silver, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jack Perry, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Bishop Snyder always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ponte Vedra only posted an OBP of .316.

The win made it two in a row for Bishop Snyder and bumps their season record up to 8-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Ponte Vedra, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Snyder will welcome Trinity Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Bishop Snyder's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Trinity Christian Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
