The Annandale Atoms won the last time they faced the Lewis Lancers, and things went their way on Friday too. Annandale snuck past Lewis with a 56-50 win.
Annandale found their leader in underclassman Ava Sewall, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Sewall's third in a row with at least ten points. Susan Aburish was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Annandale's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Lewis, their defeat was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-9.
Annandale will take on Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday. As for Lewis, they will head out on the road to face off against Gar-Field at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Virginia (Gar-Field is ranked 334th, while Lewis is ranked 329th).
