Fulshear has been on the road for five straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Fort Bend Marshall Buffalos at 5:00 p.m. Hopefully Fulshear is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Fort Bend Marshall in Texas (Fulshear is ranked 72nd, while Fort Bend Marshall is ranked 978th).
Last Tuesday, it was close, but Fulshear sidestepped Westside for a 45-42 win.
Fulshear's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ruke Ogbevire led the charge by scoring 21 points. The game was Ogbevire's 14th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Semmler, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Fort Bend Marshall's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 28-27 to Fort Bend Kempner. Fort Bend Marshall has struggled against Fort Bend Kempner recently, as their matchup on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Fulshear's win bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Fort Bend Marshall, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Fulshear against Fort Bend Marshall when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 81-12 victory. Will Fulshear repeat their success, or does Fort Bend Marshall have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
