Gulf hasn't had much luck against Sunlake recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Buccaneers are taking a road trip to take on the Seahawks at 7:00 p.m. Gulf's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Sunlake's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Gulf barely beat Central the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Buccaneers never let the Bears get on the board and left with an 8-0 win on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Buccaneers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Jeovanna Carter made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Olivia Wiley was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Mya Rogers was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Gulf was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Sunlake came up short against Clearwater on Monday and fell 7-3.
Analese Lacquey was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Sunlake's loss dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Gulf, their record is now 9-11.
Sunlake's pitching crew better be locked in on Tuesday. Gulf hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. It's a different story for Sunlake, though, as they've been averaging only 0 home runs. Will they be able to keep Gulf in the park?
Gulf might still be hurting after the 17-0 defeat they got from Sunlake when the teams last played back in March of 2021. Can the Buccaneers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
