The West Lincoln Rebels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They were dealt a 90-54 loss at the hands of Maiden. While losing is never fun, West Lincoln can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 496th, while Maiden is ranked 205th).
When it comes to explaining why West Lincoln lost, one person who can't be blamed is Mikalister Anderson. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and five blocks. Anderson is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Gideon Allen, who scored 11 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Even though they lost, West Lincoln were working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Lincoln Frasure continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Maiden, scoring 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Frasure has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zion White, who scored 12 points along with eight assists.
West Lincoln bumped their record down to 2-10 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Maiden, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
West Lincoln will be playing at home against Bunker Hill at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Bunker Hill's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups. As for Maiden, they will head out on the road to take on West Caldwell at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. West Caldwell will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
