The East Lyme Vikings scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2023 than the 74-33 stomp they got on the road against Montville. That looming 74-33 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for East Lyme yet this season.
It was another big night for Oliver Hibbard, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. Jaylen Hannans was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
The win (which was East Lyme's third in a row) raised their record to 3-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 26.67 points. As for Montville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
East Lyme will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Grasso Tech at 6:00 p.m. on December 29th. As for Montville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Griswold at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Griswold and Montville are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
