The Lexington Tigers''s game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 17-14 win over Chester County. That's another feather in the cap for Lexington, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Chester County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Peyton Barham, who rushed for 130 yards. Barham was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards. Chad Barham also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Lexington's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-6. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Chester County, Jackson South Side, and Chester County. As for Chester County, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lexington will face off against Hardin County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hardin County is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Chester County, they will head out on the road to face off against Jackson North Side at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Jackson North Side is ranked 197th, while Chester County is ranked 190th).
