Giles is 0-10 against Auburn since April of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The Spartans will be playing at home against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Giles is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.5 runs per game this season.
Giles will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Craig County on Thursday. The Spartans put the hurt on the Rockets with a sharp 17-1 victory. Considering the Spartans have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Addie Lowry was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
In other batting news, Summer Ceritano was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That home run was her first of the season. Dabney Martin was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Giles was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .484. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Auburn unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Christiansburg by a score of 3-2. The game marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.
Samantha Anderson and Kaylee Ramrattan stepped up to the plate in a big way. Anderson went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Ramrattan went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Giles has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Auburn, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Giles hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Auburn struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1.1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Giles suffered a grim 11-3 defeat to Auburn when the teams last played back in March. Will the Spartans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
