Sammamish is 0-3 against Renton since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Sammamish RedHawks will head out on the road to face off against the Renton Red Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Sammamish got themselves on the board against Foster, but Foster never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 44-0 victory over the Bulldogs on the road. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Sammamish.
Ty Webster continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 277 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.3 yards per carry. Webster is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last seven games he's played. Ethan Coldiron was another key contributor, rushing for six yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Renton had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They blew past Evergreen 41-6 on the road. The result was nothing new for Renton, who have now won three matchups by 35 points or more so far this season.
Sammamish now has a winning record of 4-3. Renton has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in six of their first seven matchups, giving them a 6-1 record.
Sammamish came up short against Renton when the teams last played back in October of 2022, falling 28-18. Can Sammamish avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
