The Madera South Stallions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Torres Toros at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Madera South is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Madera South's game on Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 38-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hoover.
Meanwhile, Torres put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 63-20 victory over Fresno. Given Torres' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 358th, while Fresno is ranked 787th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Madera South's defeat was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-1 Orosi and 8-3 Golden Valley (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 63.4% over those games). As for Torres, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Madera South came up short against Torres in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 29-20. Will Madera South have more luck at home instead of on the road?
