Arroyo has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against The San Lorenzo Grizzlies at noon on Saturday. Arroyo will be strutting in after a victory while San Lorenzo will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Friday, Arroyo got the win against Alameda by a conclusive 34-14. The result was nothing new for Arroyo, who have now won three contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Arroyo to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gabriel Flores, who rushed for 160 yards and a touchdown. Thomas Adkins got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, San Lorenzo's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 48-20 defeat at the hands of Piedmont.
Arroyo's win on Friday bumped their record up to 3-5. San Lorenzo has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Arroyo against San Lorenzo in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 35-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Arroyo since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
