Laurel's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amadou Kaloga, who scored 15 points along with eight assists and five steals. That's the first time this season that Kaloga posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Jermaine Taylor, who scored 20 points along with three steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Laurel and bumps their season record up to 5-4. As for Northwestern, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
Laurel won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Suitland at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Suitland is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games. As for Northwestern, they will head out on the road to square off against Eleanor Roosevelt at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eleanor Roosevelt is on a five-game streak of home losses, Northwestern a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
