Bishop Shanahan is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Coatesville on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Red Raiders by a score of 2-1.
Bishop Shanahan saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Henry Lamb, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Avon Grove came out on top against Downingtown East on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run second inning. The Red Devils took their matchup against the Cougars 6-1. The game was the first time the Red Devils have beaten the Cougars on their field since April 17, 2023.
Ryan Fuller tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Avon Grove is 3-1 when Fuller allows one or fewer earned runs, but 2-8 otherwise.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Nick Campese, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2025.
Avon Grove was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Bishop Shanahan now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Avon Grove, their record is now 5-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Bishop Shanahan has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Avon Grove struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Bishop Shanahan came out on top in a nail-biter against Avon Grove in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 7-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
